The Blue Helmets help troubled countries to navigate in the path from crisis towards long-lasting peace. During the past 70 years more than 70 peacekeeping missions (in which more than 120 countries were engaged!) were facing various challenges and going through constant change in the nature of the missions, and the personnel involved. In order to adapt to the post-cold war challenges of security, peacekeeping forces now include economists, police forces, public servants, yet the backbone of the missions remained the military personnel.
Commemorating the 70th anniversary of Peacekeeping and 30th anniversary of Hungary's involvement, International Diplomatic Student Association (IDSA) and the Advanced College of Security Studies cordially invite you for our moderated discussion with Col. Dr. Gábor BOLDIZSÁR, former dean of the Faculty of Military Sciences at National University of Public Services, who was himself serving as a Blue Helmet in Mozambique (1993-1994), and in Kosovo (2005-2006), and participated in the NATO missions in Afghanistan (2008-2010).
